Titanium alloy melting
Titanium alloy melting methods are generally divided into: 1. Vacuum arc furnace melting method; 2. Non-consumable vacuum arc furnace melting method; 3. Electron beam cold hearth furnaces; 4. Cold melting method; 5. Electroslag smelting. Our melting facility employs Electron Beam Cold Hearth Melting (ECHB) and Vacuum Arc Remelt (VAR) technologies, both of which operate under vacuum. Aero-Ti owns two electron beam cold hearth furnaces and six 10-ton vacuum arc furnaces.
Technical characteristics and advantages of VAR furnace:
(1) Full coaxial power input, that is to say, the full coaxial on the height of the whole furnace, called coaxial power supply, reduce the occurrence of segregation phenomenon;
(2) The electric alignment in the crucible can be fine-tuned in the X-axis/Y-axis upward;
(3) With accurate electrode weighing system, the melting rate is automatically controlled to achieve constant speed melting, ensuring the quality of melting;
(4) To ensure the repeatability and consistency of each melting;
(5) Flexibility, that is a furnace can produce a variety of ingot and large ingot, can greatly improve productivity;
(6) It has good economy.
